On July 1, 2010, Canada Day, they delivered my folding electric bicycle. I test-rode in the void deck of the apartment building as it was raining. When they left after I signed receipt, the rain let up and I took it on the internal paths of the housing estate.
Then, disaster,
The front wheel skidded to the left in a puddle as I maneuvered a corner. I put down my right foot but it slipped on the sandy wet tarmac. The ankle dislocated and cracked. It swelled as I watched in helpless agony, sprawled on wet ground, embarrassed by the scene and aching to regain posture.
The battery helped in riding back without exerting the broken foot but more damage when I wheeled the cycle into the home.
Surgery a week later, to re-align and pin the bones and ordered confinement to bed, I've been on crutches and wheelchair since, to venture to washroom and kitchen.
The doctor will see me again on Sep 3rd to determine the next course of action..
So, it has been regimented TV and laptop till now and for a further 2-1/2 weeks. Oh well.
